The drive train of your vehicle is the combined components that transmit power from the engine to the wheels. Components in this group include axels, half-shafts, propeller shafts, yokes, universal joints, constant velocity, or CV, joints, hubs, bearings, and transfer cases. Three common types of drive trains are; front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, and all-wheel-drive, or four-wheel-drive. Most sedans and mini-vans are designed as front wheel drive. Most SUVs and light trucks are rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. Indications of drive train problems are vibrations that intensify with the speed of the vehicle and any unusual noise such as bumps, bangs, or clicks.
