Why change my engine oil?

Your car's engine oil is its lifeblood. Clean, fresh engine oil reduces friction and heat build-up in the moving parts of your engine by forming a slippery, protective barrier between the parts. This reduces wear in these parts and causes your engine to run longer without expensive repairs.
Over time, engine oil breaks down and becomes contaminated. It looses its protective abilities and causes parts, such as bearings, valve guides, and cylinder walls, to wear out prematurely. In most cars, the engine oil should be changed every 3,000 miles.  Why should you change your car's engine oil? To save money! An oil change is one of the most economical maintenance items on your car. In the long run, it may save you hundreds of dollars in repair bills.
